Dolphins roll on to 4-0

They did it again, Dolphins win on their third road game (out of 4 games).  It was done with the superb work of a great first half, and a solid performance on defense in the second half.

Offensively in the first half we moved the ball pretty good.  The kids looked like the lighter practice really worked well, and they were running really good routes.  We scored 25 points, including 4 touchdowns (Brendan, Tyler, and a pair from Lucas).  The second half was a boat load of fun, but didn't have the offensive results were wanted.  We dialed up the home run play 8 times in the second half.  We abandoned it on the field 3 or 4 times.  The other times we had the team beat, we ran great routes, but we just didn't finish.  I know how the kids love those long bombs.  But even though we dropped 2 or 3 touchdowns, we didn't need them, because we had defense.

In the first half we had some good performances pulling flags for negative plays by our defenders, especially Quinten and Brendan who got 2 and 1 pulls behind the line of scrimmage.  Our flush ends did incredible eliminating the whole left side of the offensive field.  When they threw to the left, we knocked it down or got an interception.  We tallied 4 interceptions, Luke, Cole, and Quinten.  A couple of them were on scoring plays in the endzone where we stopped them getting points on the board.  But the biggest interception was with about a 30 seconds to go in the game.  We were up 25-18, a TD and 2-point conversion could win it for them.  But they threw against our corner, and the rush was on.  And who else, but Nate came in snagged the interception, and ended their chances and brought the game to a close.  The team was super pumped and rallied around the captain's incredible last second heroics to finish the game off in our favor.
