The Soccer Club of Newington provides an opportunity for children to play soccer in a community-based environment that strives to promote personal and athletic development while learning valuable life skills. Using soccer as a vehicle, the club strives to develop each child's self-image, respect, talent, and sportsmanship, while having fun playing the game of soccer.

SCN SOCCER CAMP
 
 

Be challenged and have fun learning from SCN Staff Coaches.
The camp will focus on these 4 components: physical, technical, tactical, and psychological development.

Each day will end with fun, small-sided games.

Players will be grouped by ability level and age.

Proceeds from this camp help Newington Parks & Rec and also helps the Soccer Club of Newington provide coaching education, community donations, and scholarships.
 
 

BRAZIL CT PRESENTED BY SCN
 
 

Ages 5-18
Join us for a great summer of evening soccer training and unforgettable memories! Enroll your kids and keep them busy and develop their soccer skills throughout the summer.
 
Ages 5 & 6 (Tuesdays only, 6 sessions):
Brazukinha Program is designed to train and generate children's interest in soccer during the summer months. Sessions will teach soccer skills in a non-competitive, educational and fun environment.
 
Ages 7 & 8 (12 sessions):
Brazuca Program is carefully designed for players with the intent of working on skills in team settings. We want our young players to understand team concepts and introduction to real games in an extremely fun environment.
 
Ages 9 - 13 (12 sessions):
Select Program is designed for players looking for additional soccer development during the summer months. It is also a great opportunity to play with players from different clubs. Players will have the option to participate in out-of-state and local tournaments.
 
Ages 14 - 18 (12 sessions):
College Showcase Program will get our players prepared during the summer months for their upcoming high school season and get some college showcase opportunities.
 
 

GEORGE KOSTELIS GOALKEEPING
 
 

Training sessions will emphasize developing proper technique and the physical skills needed to be an effective goalkeeper.
 
Based on the topics trained, the sessions will implement tactical and psychological implications to stimulate and challenge goalkeepers to make decisions.
 
From being the first line of attack to the last line of defense, greater emphasis is placed on becoming a player who understands and can execute the modern demands of goalkeeping.
 
Topics Covered: How and when to Set, Basic Handling, Positioning, Angle Play, Diving, Tipping Over the Bar, Dealing with Crosses, Breakaway Technique & Tactics, Training the Back Pass, Distribution/Initiating the Attack, Boxing: One & Two Hands, Footwork, Interval/Pressure Training & Penalty Kicks.
